British police confirmed that they had “closed” the file of Cristiano Ronaldo’s
assault on a young fan, last April, and issued their decision regarding the Portuguese star.
“We can confirm that the 37-year-old Ronaldo attended voluntarily and
cautiously questioned in relation to the allegation of assault and criminal
damage,” a police statement said.
“The allegation relates to an incident following the football match between
Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park on Saturday 9 April.”
The statement concluded that the police’s decision is to issue a “conditional warning”
to Ronaldo, stressing that “the case is now over.”
