The German publishing and development company, Daedalic Entertainment, has announced a disappointing performance for its A Year of Rain, a strategic game focused on e-sports and the team play component. This game was released last year with its early entry version.
The game managed to approach the 5,000 mark of sold copies with a very disappointing performance and it was announced that its development would be suspended indefinitely, Bastei Lubbe, the company that owns 51% of Daedalic Entertainment, announced the company’s devaluation and caused losses of 12 to 14 million euros.
Bastei Lubbe believes that the current business model is not sustainable and the company will decide with the rest of the investors a new business mechanism for the company that will mostly include restructuring, Daedalic Entertainment has been working on the Lord of the Rings: Gollum project for some time and we do not know how much the project was affected by these negative updates.
