The brilliant Spanish striker directed the drafting of a “fatal”
shot by Aspas, to Barcelona’s ambition to preserve the Spanish
League title, on Saturday night, giving a gift to Real Madrid
leaders.
Spain striker Iago Aspas scored a great goal near the end, with
a free kick, to lead Celta Vigo to a 2-2 draw with Barcelona
and deal a blow to his guest’s hopes of competing for
the League title.
Luis Suarez advanced to Barcelona in the 20th minute after
Lionel Messi performed a wonderful free kick, sending the
ball to the teammate’s head instead of shooting from the edge
of the area towards the goal.
Russian Fedor Smolov equalized for Celta at the beginning of
the second half, before Suarez received another pass from Messi
and fired a ball with his left foot from a narrow angle to advance
Barcelona in the 67th minute.
But two minutes before the end of normal time, Aspas scored
the equalizer from a free kick on the edge of the area, and he hit
it right, right along the human wall.
Celta Vigo nearly snatched the victory from Barcelona in
stoppage time, but striker Nacho missed an easy ball in front of
the goal and fired it into the belly of goalkeeper Ter Stegen.
Real Madrid will take the lead, with a difference of two points,
if he wins over Espanyol on Sunday evening.
