Captain Sergio Ramos will be absent from Real Madrid’s trip to
face Inter Milan in the Champions League, after the Spanish
club confirmed that the player had a hamstring injury while
performing national duty with the Spain national team.
And Ramos replaced in the first half of Spain’s crushing 6-0
victory over Germany, on Tuesday.
Real Madrid said in a statement: “After undergoing examinations
under the supervision of Real Madrid’s medical team, it was
confirmed that Sergio Ramos injured in the hamstring muscles.”
And local media indicated that Ramos will miss the match
against Villarreal in the Spanish League at the weekend and the
Inter Milan match in the Champions League.
Real Madrid is suffering from a poor record in the absence of its
captain, as the team has lost 7 of the last 8 matches in the Champions
League in which Ramos has not played.
Defender Rafael Varane will subject to a physical exam,
on Friday, after suffering a shoulder injury during his participation
with France in the international break, and Nacho Fernandez’s
condition will also evaluate after he left injured in the victory
over Barcelona last month.
The good news for the 13-time European champion was a
negative sample of defender Eder Militau in the detection of
the Coronavirus.
Brazilian defender, Eder Hazard, and Casemiro approved to
return to training after being infected with the Coronavirus before
the suspension period.
Real face a busy schedule as they play matches against Alaves,
Shakhtar Donetsk, Seville, Borussia Moenchengladbach and
Atletico Madrid in the next three weeks.
