Former Barcelona coach Kiki Setien announced his intention
to file a lawsuit against the Catalan club, to obtain the remainder
of the value of his contract, which terminated after the
resounding defeat by Bayern Munich.
The Spanish newspaper “AS” said that Setien received, on
Wednesday evening, a statement of his removal from his post
in Barcelona. Setien indicated that the Catalan club and its
management do not intend to implement the terms of his contract.
Accordingly, Setien forced to go to the courts against
Barcelona to get his dues, especially as he is demanding an
estimated sum of 4 million euros, remaining from his contract
until the 2020-2021 season.
Last August, Barcelona announced the appointment of Dutch
coach Ronald Koeman, to train the first team, as a replacement
for the dismissed coach, Kiki Setien.
“Barca” sacked Setien after 7 months in office, following the
resounding 2-8 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions
League, and leaving the season without any title.
