Champions League .. A shocking defeat for Barcelona and a victory for Liverpool
Barcelona suffered a surprise defeat in the European Champions League,
while Liverpool won a valuable victory in the group stage competitions
on Tuesday evening.
Inter Milan rebounded after two consecutive defeats in the Italian league
to achieve an important 1-0 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League
thanks to the goal of Turkish Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Turkish midfielder scored with a low shot from outside the penalty area
in the right corner of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal in stoppage time for the first half.
Inter jumped to second place in Group C with six points, three points behind
leaders Bayern Munich and three points ahead of Barcelona.
Liverpool victory
Liverpool put its stumble in the last period behind his back to win 2-0 at its guest,
Rangers, on Tuesday, and advance to second place in the first group in the Champions League.
The win, thanks to a superb free kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the first
half and a penalty from Mohamed Salah after the break, lifted six-times champions
Liverpool to six points in second place, three points behind leaders Napoli,
who crushed Ajax Amsterdam 6- 1.
Rangers, who did not pose a threat to Liverpool’s goal and frustrated their fans
who traveled behind the team, are bottom of the table without a credit.
