Belgian star Romelu Lukaku addressed a challenge and cynicism message to his Swedish rival Zlatan Ibrahimovic, after the victory of the first and his team Inter Milan over the rivals AC Milan in the Italian league derby, on Sunday evening.
Inter Milan achieved a dramatic victory over arch-rivals AC Milan, 4-2, at the top of round 23 of Serie A, after it was 0-2 behind in the first half.
Lukaku posted a photo of him on social media, celebrating his fourth goal, and commented on it, saying, “There is a new king in the city,” referring to his takeover of Milan’s leadership from Ibrahimovic.
The Swedish star said, “The king returned to the city,” when he signed with Milan early this year.
Lukako’s phrase came to ridicule Ibrahimovic’s previous statements and announce the challenge using the term “king”, which he refers to as “Ibra” when he talks about himself.
Lukaku had previously played for a short time with Ibrahimovic in Manchester United when the two stars competed for the spearhead position on the team.
The victory lifted Inter Milan to the top of Serie A, with a goal difference from Juventus, while AC Milan fell to tenth place.
