André Chorle, the 2014 World Cup winner with Germany, made
a shocking decision. He announced the retirement of football at
the age of 29, two days after the end of his contract with
Borussia Dortmund by mutual consent.
He had only a year left in his shore contract with Dortmund, but
the club announced the departure of the striker on Wednesday.
In an interview with the German magazine, “Der Spiegel”,
Shorle talked about his suffering from the unit as a professional
player in the last two seasons, after spending a year on loan in
Spartak Moscow and another with Fulham.
“The idea of the decision swelled inside me a long time ago.
I need no more applause,” said the former Chelsea winger.
He added: “You must always play a specific role to save the job,
or you will lose your job and not get another.”
Since his inception with Mainz in 2009, Schorle has played
more than 370 club-level games, played for Bayer Leverkusen,
Chelsea and Wolfsburg, and 57 games for Germany and scored
22 goals.
Chorla played an important role in crowning the “Mancheft”
team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and was the maker of
the goal to beat Argentina in the final match of his colleague
Mario Gotze.
