Many questioned the reason why the Arsenal goalkeeper,
in an impressive way to cry, after his team won the FA Cup,
to discover that the reason is his suffering and long patience
in the world of football, whose reward finally came this season.
Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez burst into tears, after
Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final, until
the star of the team Pierre Emeric Obamiang came to
congratulate him on his great efforts.
English newspapers revealed why Martinez was severely
affected after the meeting, which is that he finally reaped the
fruits of his 10-year efforts at Arsenal, which he spent between
moving on loan to underwhelmed clubs, or sitting on a bench.
The Argentine goalkeeper moved to Arsenal in 2010, at the age
of 17, and spent his time between lower-class clubs in England,
one year with Spain’s Getafe, and even in his overseas
experiences, he could never play as a basic goalkeeper.
But everything changed in June, when Arsenal’s main
goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, was injured, and the team began
relying on Martinez, who surprised everyone and provided
great levels in the League and Cup.
Since relying on Martinez, Arsenal have scored 8 wins in their
11 matches, which has prompted fans to demand reliance on
Martinez as a goalkeeper next season.
Martinez crowned his “extraordinary” season by leading his
team to victory over Chelsea and the FA Cup, which caused
him to cry after the referee’s whistle and during TV interviews.
Martinez also sat on the side of the stadium, contacted his
family via video, and appeared to shed tears while talking to
them, in a touching scene that the fans shared on social media.
Martínez and many other club fans applauded Martínez as a
great example of football patience, perseverance and hard work
despite the difficulties.
