Arsenal set a trap for defending champions Manchester City,
and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored two goals to win 2-0
in the FA Cup semi-final against empty stands at Wembley
Stadium, Saturday.
A few days after beating Liverpool Premier League champions
Liverpool, Arsenal gave another solid performance to set a date
in the final with Manchester United or Chelsea.
City dominated the match early and forced Arsenal to retreat
to defend, but was shocked when Aubameyang netted in
the 19th minute after a smooth move.
Coach Pep Guardiola’s team never crossed the effects of
Obamyang’s goal, and as he began to put more pressure on
Arsenal in the second half, the Gabonese striker gave another
magical glimpse and set out alone before putting the ball into
goalkeeper Ederson in the 71st minute.
Arsenal responded to City’s pressure in the last minutes, but did
not seem at all threatened to end 7 consecutive defeats against
Guardiola, including a 3-0 loss in the league a month ago.
Arsenal, led by coach Mikel Arteta, is now one away from
winning the 14th FA Cup title.
