Bale’s contract with Real Madrid expires after weeks
With Gareth Bale looking for a new destination for next season, Spanish reports revealed that the Welsh striker’s
agent had offered him to Atlético Madrid, but the offer was rejected by the Real Madrid rivals in the capital.
Bale’s 32-year-old contract with the royal club expires next June, while Real Madrid management do not intend
to renew him to keep his future in the stadiums mysterious.
The Spanish radio station Cadena Cobb said that Jonathan Barnett, Bell’s agent, met with the Atletico
administration, and offered her his client starting next season, but the response was rejected.
According to the source, Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta told Bale’s business agent:
“We appreciate this offer, but Gareth Bale is not among our plans for next season.”
Earlier, Spanish newspapers reported that Bale would announce his retirement if Wales failed to qualify for the
2022 World Cup during the European play-off, while the player would look for a new club to join if his country’s World Cup team arrived.
Wales will host the winner of Scotland and Ukraine in the World Cup qualifier in Cardiff on June 5.
