In a surprising move in the career of the controversial Italian star, Mario Balotelli moved to Monza,
which competes in the Italian second division.
The club, which promoted to the second division last season, announced the inclusion of the former
international striker on a short-term contract, which extends only until the end of the current season.
Balotelli not associated with any club since his departure from Brescia’s club this year, and the 30-year-old
will join another midfielder who previously represented Milan, Ghana’s Kevin Prince Boateng.
Balotelli has had a troubled career playing for some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Milan and
Inter Milan in Italy, Manchester City and Liverpool in England, and Nice and Olympique de Marseille in France.
“Super Mario” participated in 36 international matches for Italy, during which he scored 14 goals.
In 2018, Monza bought by former Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, 3 years after he had been relegated
to fourth division due to bankruptcy.
