Barcelona, Spain’s Primera Liga club, said Saturday,
that its French defender, Samuel Umtetti, was shot in the leg
during his individual training.
Over the past few seasons, the 26-year-old Omtiti has
experienced knee and foot problems.
Barcelona said he has not yet set a time frame for the player
to return to training again.
The soccer activity in Spain has stopped due to the highly
infectious Corona virus since last March, while the tournament
hopes to complete the remainder of the season starting from
next June, although it has not been confirmed yet when
the matches will resume.
Tournament squad players will begin training in small groups,
before group training begins later as a prelude to the resumption
of matches.
Barcelona are at the top of the standings 11 games before
the end of the season, two points ahead of Real Madrid,
the closest hunters, who is scheduled to resume training next
Monday.
