Barcelona bid farewell to their domestic season with a clean
five-point victory in the last round of the Spanish League,
which came days after the “big” team failed at home.
With the league resolved in favor of the rivals Real Madrid,
Barcelona played without any pressure, and won 5-0 over its
host Deportivo Alaves, on Sunday.
Argentine star Lionel Messi approached the Golden Shoe award
in Spain, for the seventh time in its history, by scoring two goals
in the meeting, reaching 25 goals in the league, 4 goals behind
Frenchman Karim Benzema.
Barcelona scored Messi (two goals), Uruguayan Luis Suarez,
Portuguese Nelson Simedo and Spain’s Anso Fati.
With this wide victory, the “Catalan” club concluded its season
by reaching 82 points, which is 5 points less than its score last
season, which crowned its title.
The wide victory came days after Barcelona’s “humiliating” loss
at home to Osasuna, while Real Madrid were crowned the title.
