Barcelona is still seeking a new striker to rely on in the front line, instead of Luis Suárez, who is trying to recover from a severe knee injury suffered last January and will be absent after that for several months.
Although the winter transfer market is closed, Barcelona may be able to conclude an “exceptional” deal, due to the injury of striker Osman Dembli who will undergo surgery, Tuesday, will keep him out of action for at least 5 months.
According to the Spanish sports newspaper “AS”, the Catalan club seeks to include another striker, just by chance, Luis Suárez and plays for Real Zaragoza in the second part of the domestic league.
Suarez, 22, scored 14 goals in 24 games this season, as his team is in third place and his team is competing strongly for the promotion to the First Division.
According to the newspaper sources, the Catalan club officials have already opened negotiations with their counterparts in Zaragoza, in order to attract the player as an exceptional deal outside the timeframe set for contracts in Europe.
And the final decision on the possibility of concluding Barcelona for any contract currently will be issued by the Medical Committee of the Spanish Football Federation at the request of the club, given the conditions of injuries in its ranks.
But even with the approval of this committee, it will not be easy for Barcelona, as the other Suarez is seconded to Real Zaragoza, but he is basically the English player of Watford, which enters other parties that might hinder the potential deal.
