Spanish newspapers have highlighted a “state of anger” among
Barcelona players, following controversial refereeing decisions
during Real Madrid’s last match against Real Sociedad,
during which the royal team won a 1-2 result, Sunday.
The aforementioned meeting at the Anoeta stadium witnessed
controversial arbitration cases, in which two goals were
calculated for the royal team, which followers said were
doubtful of their validity, while a goal for the stadium owners
due to offside was canceled, which was sufficient to balance
the result, knowing that the referee refused to return
to video technology.
With this victory, Real Madrid regained the top of the Spanish
League, equal to Barcelona by points, but surpassed it in direct
confrontations.
The front pages of Tuesday’s newspapers came to reflect
the anger that Barcelona players suffered from the referee’s
decisions, which were in the interest of Real Madrid.
The first page of the Barcelona-based newspaper “Sport” took
an offensive position, saying that the Catalan team “faces
Madrid and the ruling of the video” in the race for the league
title, noting “5 arbitration errors that served the coach of
Zinedine Zidane”, since the re Football activity stopped
for about 3 months due to the Corona crisis.
The newspaper “AS” also said that the decisions opened another
“battle” between the clubs, as Barcelona was angered by the
calls with Madrid, who were equally angry with the allegations.
Meanwhile, the newspaper “Marca” highlighted the “Real
Madrid boredom”, as the club believes that it was “unfairly
treated with the scheduling of league matches.”
