Bayern Munich coach Hans Flick praised his players
after winning five cleansings of Fortuna Dusseldorf in
the German Bundesliga on Saturday, and said his team
had not given the opponent any chance.
Bayern took a new step towards winning the title for the
eighth time in a row and 30 in its history, and
strengthened its lead in the competition with 67 points
from 29 games, ten points ahead of Borussia Dortmund,
his closest attache, who is a guest at bottom club
Paderborn, Sunday.
“We played very seriously and did not give the opponent
any chance,” Flick told the club’s website. “The players’
enthusiasm can be pursued.”
“It is important to achieve success in the season,” added
Flick, who became Bayern’s first coach to win 22 of the
first 25 games, beating Josep Guardiola’s record by
winning 21 times.
He continued: “In Bayern Munich we must always win
the league title and this is our goal. We still have a few
games and we are in a great position now.”
This is Bayern’s fourth consecutive victory after the
league’s resumption this month, and after stopping in
March due to the “Coved 19” pandemic, it came after a
precious 1-0 victory at rivals Dortmund last week.
Flick said: “It was important for us to show a lack of
complacency after Tuesday’s match against Dortmund.
We showed it from the first second so I feel very happy
with our performance.”
