Bayern Munich have announced the extension of their
contract striker Thomas Muller for an additional two
years until 2023.
With this, the career of thirty years continues with the
team he joined in 2000, before he begins his professional
career eight years later.
Bayern and Thomas Muller continue their long
partnership, Bayern said in a statement.
After constructive and positive talks, the club and the
attacking player agreed to extend his contract for two
years until June 30, 2023.
He added: “Muller came from Upper Bavaria to the
German league champion from his original club TSV
Bahl at the age of 10. He then made his way into all of
Bayern’s age teams and has been a permanent member of
the professional team since 2009.”
Muller crowned during this long march with the
Bavarian club eight times in the local league, including
the last seven seasons, and won the domestic cup title
five times, in addition to crowning him in the European
Champions League and Club World Cup in 2013.
Bayern chief executive Carl Heinz Rummenigge
expressed his pleasure that Thomas Muller had extended
his contract for another two years until June 30, 2023.
He said: “I would like to thank Thomas and his advisor
Ludwig Kogel for their confidence in us in these fair
negotiations.”
Muller, for his part, revealed that “the two sides signed
(the new contract) with a really good feeling. I trust that
once we start playing again (referring to stopping
because of the new Corona virus), we will continue our
great success. This motivates me. For me, the extension
with Bayern was a priority.” And the club’s feeling was
mutual. ”
He considered, “This club is not just an old employer for
It is my passion. I am happy that I will be here for an
additional two years, and I will do everything on and off
the field.”
