Norwich City coach Daniel Farcke described his team as “naive,
inexperienced and stupid” after he destroyed himself and lost
2-0 to Burnley to suffer the ninth consecutive defeat in the
English Premier League.
Coach Farkeh’s team seemed to be able to achieve a positive
result in the last game at the Premier League, on Saturday,
before the relegation, but Emiliano Bundia was sent off in
the 35th minute due to the assault of his opponent, and then
Josip Darmic received another red card due to a violent error.
Chris Wood scored Burnley’s first goal in the fifth minute of
stoppage time for the first half, then Norwich player Ben
Godfrey added the second goal of the visiting team by mistake
in his net to complete the sad day.
Farkh used to defend his players throughout the difficult season,
after winning the second division last year, but it seems that his
patience has run out after Norwich became the first team in the
English Premier League since 1922 to lose 5 consecutive games
at home without scoring any goal.
“We started just as we wanted to move forward. We wanted to
control the game. Burnley’s reaction came in his usual way,”
German Farke said. “He is a team with experience in the
Premier League. I realize he has problems and needs to stop
this rhythm.”
“We fell into the trap and got two parcels. Naive, inexperienced
and stupid are all the right words to describe what happened.
This is unacceptable. It is not possible to win points with
8 players (other than the goalkeeper). My players fell into
the trap.”
Norwich has only 21 points and has confirmed the end of
the season with the lowest score for this club in the League
competition.
But this is not the lowest number of points for a Premier League
team, as Derby County won 11 points in the 2007-08 season.
