Manchester United’s friendly against Stoke City canceled
in the last moments, after the confirmation of the team’s second-
coach Michael O’Neill with the new Corona virus.
Stoke had arrived at United Training Course for the match when
he informed of the positive result of Onny’s examination,
and Stoke said in a statement that O’Neill’s Northern Irish
checks were negative in the previous five rounds of testing.
“Stoke can confirm that coach O’Neill’s test positive for
(Coved 19) after the latest round of tests on Monday
(June 8th),” Stock said in a statement.
Football has stopped in England since mid-March due to
the pandemic, but the Premier League competition expected
to resume on June 17, followed by the Second Division after
3 days.
Manchester United are fifth in the Premier League, 3 points
behind Chelsea, and will resume their season against Tottenham
Hotspur on June 19.
