The company “Samsung” recorded a decline in sales of its phones, for the first time in 9 years, according to
a South Korean report.
The site “Korea IT News” said that sales of phones at Samsung this year fell to less than 300 million units,
which means that it is the first time in 9 years that the South Korean company shipped this number.
The report indicated that Samsung’s total sales by the end of the third quarter amounted to 189.4 million units,
highlighting that the company’s total sales this year estimated at 270 million units.
The source explained that the company was expecting these numbers, given the repercussions of
the Coronavirus pandemic.
Samsung plans to massively promote foldable smartphones in 2021, while fully expanding the lineup
of models supporting low and middle-class 5G networks.
It expected that the Samsung foldable phone will replace the “Note” series, which some sources indicate
that the company will permanently abandon next year.
