Former Marseille club president Bab Diouf, 68, has died
after infected with the Corona virus, family
sources said
Senegal’s RTS confirmed the news of Diouf’s death.
Diouf transferred from Dakar, the capital of
Senegal, to the southern French city of Nice, on a
private, health-equipped plane, on Tuesday, but his plane
did not take off because of his poor health, before he
died on Senegalese soil.
Bab Diouf, a former journalist, headed the French club
Marseille from 2005 to 2009 and contributed
significantly to building the team that crowned the
French League champion in 2010, after a 17-year fast.
Diouf admitted to a Dakar hospital in recent
days after infected with the Corona virus, and he
needed a respiratory system during his treatment.
