Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, after winning the award for best player in the ranks of Liverpool for
the month of December, confirmed that the “Reds” situation is not great at the present time, and
the team needs to focus on every match.
Mohamed Salah scored 6 goals in 8 matches during the month of December, and won the Player of
the Month award for the first time this season, after being crowned by fellow Senegalese striker
Sadio Mane last September and Portuguese striker Diogo Guetta in October and November.
After receiving the award, Salah said: “Thank you very much … It is a nice thing, but we only need
to win some upcoming matches.”
“The situation is not great at the moment, but we just need to focus on every match, to remain united
and maintain continuity,” he added.
He continued: “I want to thank the fans very much, and I say thank you to everyone who voted for me.
We just need to stay together and support the team, I trust everything will be as it should be.”
Mohamed Salah is the top scorer this season in the English Premier League, with 13 goals.
While Liverpool fell to fourth in the “Premier League” standings with 34 points, 6 points behind
leaders Manchester United.
The “Reds” did not score any goal in the last 4 matches in the league, as they drew in two of them
and lost twice as well.
Liverpool will visit Manchester United, on Sunday, as part of the fourth round of the FA Cup competition.
