The repercussions of the emerging “Corona” virus
continue to cast a dark shadow over sport, including
football competitions around the world.
And Monday, Paris police said that the match between
the Paris Saint-Germain French and Borussia Dortmund
in the Champions League, will be played without fans
due to the spread of the virus.
The match will kick off on Wednesday at the “Princes
Park” stadium in Paris, where the “Saints” team needs to
win by two goals, after it had lost in the second leg 1-2.
On the other hand, French Sports Minister Roxana
Maracignano said at a press conference on Monday that
all first-class matches will be played without an
audience, or with a maximum of 1,000 people, until
April 15th.
The French authorities have prevented gatherings of
more than a thousand people, in the framework of
combating the spread of the emerging “Corona” virus.
France recorded 1166 cases of the virus until Sunday, an
increase of 19 percent over the previous day, and has
become the second largest number of cases in Europe
after Italy.
19 people have died in France so far after contracting
“Covid 19”, caused by infection with the Coronavirus.
