Inter Milan reached the final of the European League “Europa
League” football championship, after its landslide victory over
Shakhtar Donetsk, Ukraine, by five clean Monday, in
Dusseldorf in the semi-finals.
The Argentine Lautaro Martinez (19 and 74), Danilo
D’Ambrosio (64), and the Belgian Romelu Lukaku (78 and 84)
scored the goals.
Inter Milan will meet in the final scheduled for next Friday, in
Colin, with Spain’s Seville, who beat Manchester United 2-1 on Sunday.
Inter Milan opened the scoring after a mistake by veteran
Shakhtar goalkeeper Andre Beatov (36 years) in dispersing one
of the balls and reaching between the feet of Niccolo Barrilla,
he walked with it on the left side, bypassing a defender from
Shakhtar and passed it neatly into the area, Martinez hit it with
his head into the net (19).
And Shakhtar missed several chances that he paid dearly
because Inter added the second goal from a corner kick and
a header by Dambrusio, who shot it far from the goalkeeper’s reach (m.64).
Martinez fired a bullet of mercy at the Ukrainian team, when the
ball reached him from Lukaku on the outskirts of the region, and
he hit it with a crawl in the right corner, giving his team a 3-0 lead (m.74).
And soon Lukaku added the fourth goal after receiving a perfect
ball from Martinz in the area, and he fired it with his left,
creeping into the net.
Lukaku ended the goals festival when he walked with the ball
under the watch of one of Shakhtar’s defenders, before he shot
between the legs of the Ukrainian goalkeeper (m. 84).
Inter Milan are seeking to win the title of this competition for
the first time since 1998, when they beat compatriot Lazio by
3 goals. He also reached the final of a continental competition
for the first time since 2010, when he won the European
Champions League, adding it to the two local titles (League and
Cup) in a rare hat-trick led by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
Inter Milan have not won any domestic or European titles since
the 2011-2012 season, when they won the Italia cup.
