Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has broken out of his silence over reports that Lionel Messi, the Barcelona player, has been included in the English club.
Guardiola denied in press statements that Manchester City had made an offer to Messi, expressing his hope that this would never happen, according to the Spanish newspaper “AS” reported on Saturday.
“Messi will stay there in Barcelona, that is my wish,” Guardiola said of the talk about Messi’s departure from Barcelona and his arrival to Manchester City.
Messi’s recent move to the surface overshadowed some of the problems raised about Messi’s relationship with Barcelona club management, especially following the recent problem with sports director Eric Abidal.
The 32-year-old has spent all his career with the Spanish club, but he has a clause in his contract that gives him a free exit next summer.
Guardiola coached Messi between 2008-2012, during which the Catalan team won the League 3 times, two Champions League titles, along with many other titles.
