Guardiola: Premier League Title Delights Me More Than European Champions
Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola said that the Englishman is the most difficult tournament, and to obtain
it delights any coach more than the Champions League, as he seeks to compensate for his continental
disappointment with the title of “Premiership” for the fourth time.
Manchester City exceeds by a point at the top of Liverpool ahead of the final round of the season on Sunday,
and Guardiola has a chance to win the title at his home ground for the first time when he receives
Aston Villa at the” Etihad” Stadium.
Guardiola said he was “not underestimating the Champions League title,” admitting that he was ”
eager to play the final in Paris,” but added that “winning a 38-match championship title delights any manager,
but it is more difficult.”
The Spanish coach added: “The tournament consists of many rounds. We have suffered through a lot of games from
injuries, good moments, bad situations and different situations. ”
According to Reuters, Guardiola said: “We could not stop Liverpool in the 2019-2020 season and my team was not
good enough, but in other years we were on the date. When you fight for the Premier League it gives you a sense of
enjoyment in the dressing room. ”
The manager, who previously won the Champions League with Barcelona Spain, continued:
“We become happier with the succession of wins. This provides a good environment for training.
It’s not just one game like the FA Cup. It’s (about competition) every day and it great feeling. ”
On Sunday’s deciding final game, Guardiola said his team would treat Sunday’s game like ”
any normal Premier League game,” as they looked to maintain their perfect winning record against Aston Villa.
