Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola considered that he had benefited a lot from his previous experiences
in the world of coaching, which had a positive impact on his current assignment as the head of the coaching
staff of the English team.
Guardiola revealed in statements reported by “Reuters” that he may extend his career in this field for a longer
period than expected, as a result.
Guardiola, who is Spaniard, turned to coaching in 2008 and spent his longest period with Man City, 5 years,
during that career.
The former midfielder coached his former team Barcelona between 2008 and 2012 and then coached
Bayern Munich for 3 years, before leading Man City to win the Premier League title twice, three League
Cup titles and one in the FA Cup, after taking over the task in 2016 .
On his club’s official website, Guardiola, who extended his contract with his current team for two years last
November, said: “Of course I am in a better position now. Certainly the experience has a positive impact,
especially for me and the way I deal with my work.”
He added, “In the past, I was thinking of retiring soon. Now I might think about extending my career.”
Manchester City ranks eighth among the 20 Premier League teams, with 26 points from 14 games, seven points
behind leaders Liverpool, who have played 16 games.
