Bayer Leverkusen continued his quest to end the German
Football League in the golden box after striker Kay
Haverts scored two goals and Mitchell Pfizer and Karim
Demirby added the other two goals to win 4-1
at struggling Werder Bremen host.
Leverkusen raised its score to 50 points from 26 games
in fifth place, one point behind Leipzig IV and 8 points
behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Werder, who lost a seventh straight record at home,
remained in 17th place with 18 points from 25 games.
In the absence of the masses in the framework of the
procedures to contain the Coronavirus, the match started
boringly before things changed within 5 exciting
minutes. In the middle of the first half, 3 goals were
scored.
Haveritz Leverkusen put himself ahead in the 28th
minute after he climbed above his neck to put the ball
head into the net after a wonderful work by Moussa
Diaby.
Theodore Gebr Selassie equalized after two minutes with
a superb heel game from 6 meters, but more defensive
mistakes by Bremen allowed the visiting team to
advance again in the 33rd minute.
Haveretz completely escaped censorship, putting the ball
in the head from 8 meters after a free kick from Karim
Demirby, and Bremen collapsed completely in the
second half.
Defender Pfizer made the score 3-1 in the 61st minute
with a powerful header from close range after another
impressive work from Diaby and Leverkusen missed a
lot of chances before Demirby finished his team’s quad.
The alternative, Karim Belarbi, went through the defense
of the hospitality team before playing a smart pass to
Demirbay to put him easily in the net.
