Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said his team “needs courage” to win their first Italian Serie A title
in nine years, stressing the players ‘thirst for an end to Juventus’ dominance.
Milan leads the league by three points ahead of rivals Inter Milan, and four points ahead of Juventus,
aspiring to claim their tenth successive title in the competition.
Although he celebrated his 39th birthday in October, Ibrahimovic tops the league scorers ‘ranking this season
alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, helping his team avoid defeat to lead fans’ dreams to restore Milan’s glories after
stumbling in recent years.
Ibrahimovic said during the Gazeta newspaper party after receiving the “Legend” award: “The team must have
the courage to dream of winning the league title.”
He added, “The season is long and I hope to continue this approach. We are hungry and we have the desire to
achieve more,” according to Reuters.
Ibrahimovic was out of the Milan squad since he scored twice in the 3-1 victory over Napoli on November 22,
but the Swedish player said he was “working hard” to return to the stadium.
He continued, “I train a lot and this is my philosophy. If I train a lot, things will return to normal, and people
will gather around me to help me feel good.”
