Veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a goal after he missed
a penalty to lead Milan to a 3-0 victory over Cagliari in the last
round of Serie A, Saturday.
The 38-year-old veteran, who may have played his last match in
his second term at the club, raised his score to 10 goals since his
return in January to become the largest player to score 10 or
more goals in one season in the Italian league.
The Swedish player’s contract expires in today’s match, although
some media reports stated that the player may extend his
contract for one additional season.
Milan went ahead with a goal scored by Ragnar Cavalan by
mistake in his net in the 11th minute, as Rafael Liao hit the post
from a narrow angle and the ball hit the Estonian defender and
entered the goal.
Milan got a penalty after a handball one minute before the
break, but Ibrahimovic missed the kick.
Ibrahimovic made up for it, adding the second goal in the 55th
minute before Giacomo Bonaventure added a goal two minutes later.
Milan, who have not lost since the season resumed in June,
finished the league in sixth place with 66 points and will play in
the preliminary round of the European League next season.
