separation or curfew due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus
outbreak, which caused the COVID-19 epidemic around
the world, affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
During this period, the demand for the internet and the
use of Microsoft’s cloud services increased greatly.
Microsoft confirmed that it is experiencing a massive
increase in the use of its cloud services, which reached
775% in the regions that imposed curfews or social
spacing, these services include virtual desktop,
Microsoft Teams, Xbox GamePass, Xbox Live and
Mixer. Microsoft is also working on measures to keep
services under control, such as providing Xbox updates
in less crowded periods and reducing video rendering in
Microsoft Teams.
