Juventus suffered a double setback when it suffered its first defeat of the season, while he was at home,
against Fiorentina 3-0.
While a decision by an arbitration committee in the Italian Olympic Committee led to not counting its
victory over Napoli 3-0, when the latter withdrew from the match due to the infection of players in its
ranks with the emerging Corona virus, and decided to repeat the match at a later date.
With the exclusion of these three points and today’s loss, Juventus has only 24 points, seven behind leaders Milan,
who meet Lazio on Wednesday.
Napoli had submitted his case to one of the arbitration committees of the Italian Olympic Committee after
the Italian Football Confederation and the Italian League League rejected the appeals that he had submitted.
The Olympic Committee said in a statement Tuesday that it “accepted the appeal submitted by Napoli and canceled
without delay the decision of the Italian Football Federation’s Sports Court of Appeal, including the two penalties
for the loss to Juventus and the deduction of a point.”
Juventus won the match, which was scheduled for October 4, 3-0, because Napoli did not travel to Turin,
in addition to the deduction of a point from the latter’s balance at the time.
Napoli had asked to postpone the match after putting all its players in quarantine, based on instructions from
the local health authorities, but the League decided to keep the match date as planned.
