The German coach Juergen Klopp has admitted that the poles of
Spain Real Madrid and Barcelona are able to “kidnap” some of
the stars of his team, Liverpool if they want to.
At a press conference on Sunday, Klopp said that very few clubs
can entice Liverpool players to move to her now, but Real
Madrid and Barcelona are still able to do so, especially for
South American players.
“For the world, Liverpool is a very big club … but in South
America, Barcelona and Real Madrid are more famous, which
makes sense because of the common language and culture
factor,” the German coach said.
He added: “For some players, if you receive a call from
Barcelona or Real Madrid, it is difficult to refuse and say no.”
Klopp pointed out that Real Madrid and Barcelona’s
communications with his team players “may cause some
problems”, that is, they may entice the Reds players to leave.
One of the experiences that Klopp himself experienced
regarding the transfer of Latin players to Spain was the
experience of his former team star, Brazilian Philippe Coutinho,
who insisted on moving to Barcelona and left Liverpool, in
2018, despite Klopp’s attempts to persuade him to stay.
Kuiteno could not repeat his brilliance in Liverpool, and his
level fell significantly until Barcelona loaned him to Bayern
Munich this season.
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez had previously moved from
Liverpool to Barcelona as well, when he was at the height of his
bid, summer 2014.
