Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski said he believes
Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has “two faces”, noting that
both are, fortunately, positive.
Lewandowski, 31, played for 4 seasons under Klopp in Borussia
Dortmund, before moving the two in 2014 and 2015,
respectively, to Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
He described Polish international Jurgen Klopp as his favorite
coach among all those trained for their leadership during his career.
“I think 100% I think Klopp [is my favorite] and then Pep
Guardiola comes,” Lewandowski said in an interview with
“ESPN” via Instagram.
He continued, “Klopp has two sides. You can see it, sort of, like
a father, but the second side is the face of a coach, a technical
director … He can tell you everything, and I’m not only talking
about good things, but also bad things.”
He also revealed that Klopp is a great motivation for the players
… and “makes this ideal because he knows where there is the
separation between pressing you a little more or a little less.”
Lewandowski noted that Klopp’s performance as a coach is
“amazing”, but not only as a coach, but “as a man” as well.
Lewandowski continued one of the best scorers in the world
since joining the German league champion, where he scored
51 goals in 43 games so far this season, including 34 goals in
the “Bundesliga”, knowing that Bayern won the League and
German Cup this season.
As for Klopp, he achieved “everything” with Liverpool, as he
led him to the European Champions League and Club World
Cup titles, and crowned just weeks before the Premier League
title after an absence of 30 years.
