Jurgen Klopp, the German coach for Liverpool, has revealed
that his team is on track to break the Manchester City record by
scoring 100 points in one season in the English Premier League.
However, Jürgen Klopp stressed that the focus of the Premier
League leaders not currently focused on setting new or
new records.
“We have not come here and are achieving the numbers that
achieved because of the thought of breaking records,”
said the German coach, whose team has 17 wins in 17 matches
at home in Anfield in the league this season.
“Our focus is always 100 percent on the game … and this will
not change,” Klopp added.
“If we want to achieve a record number of points, this means
winning all matches, and this not complicated. The players
know this and we do not need to remind the group about
this matter.”
It is noteworthy that the Liverpool team, which won two
unanswered goals against Aston Villa on Sunday thanks to
the goals of Sadio Mane and Curtis Jones, needs 12 points
from the last 5 games to pass the record that achieved
Manchester City in the 2017-2018 season.
Liverpool are to visit Brighton & Hove Albion, ranked 15th,
next Wednesday.
