Sunday evening Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp revealed
the reason for his decision not to involve Egyptian star
Mohamed Salah against Everton at the Merseyside summit.
Liverpool tied negatively against Everton in its first game after
returning to complete the Premier League, after an absence of
more than 3 months due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.
After asking the club after the match about the reasons for
the absence of the duo, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson,
the German coach replied: “We are in a special time of
the season and after 4 weeks of training and preparing for
the resumption of the league, it should not be forgotten that
we will play another match next Wednesday.”
“So we have to think about the participation of all the players.
Some players were unable to train with the team during the past
week, such as Salah and Robertson.”
He continued: “The duo had already trained, but not with
the rest of the team and both seemed well during the training
sessions. For this reason, Mohamed Salah did not participate
in the match, and Robertson left the list.”
Klopp continued his speech, saying: “So it was better for
Robertson to continue the qualification. And Salah not to
participate against Everton.”
After Liverpool tied Everton in the 30th round of the English
Premier League, the Reds balance increased to 83 points in
the league lead, 23 points behind Manchester City.
