German coach Juergen Klopp, Liverpool coach, has returned to talk again about the future of
the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, before the upcoming match against Manchester United in
the FA Cup, on Sunday evening.
Klopp said, in statements carried by the “Liverpool Echo” newspaper: “Yes, Salah will participate
in a large percentage, mainly, and I do not think that this is a big secret.” He also denied suggestions
that the future of the uncertain Egyptian star may be a source of distraction.
Regarding the constant speculation about the future of Salah, who will remain on his contract for
two years after the end of the current season, Klopp stressed, “I do not think that this will affect
the performance of the team, this is normal in the world of football.”
“We do not go out and talk about things that we think are important, this is very rare. But we receive
questions and we answer them, and then it seems that we have started talking about the subject.
This is the story,” he said.
“In most cases we don’t do that. I don’t think Salah’s contract will disrupt the season,” the Liverpool coach
concluded, indicating that he is not concerned that the story may ultimately affect the team’s performance.
Manchester United will host the Liverpool team, this evening, Sunday, at Old Trafford in the fourth round
of the FA Cup.
