Roberto Firmino netted in the last minute to give Liverpool a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield
and set the defending champions to lead the Premier League to the top of the English Premier League
against their London rival.
Coach Juergen Klopp’s team dominated from the start and advanced with a shot from Mohamed Salah,
which changed direction after colliding with Tottenham’s Toby Alderferweld in the 26th minute.
Tottenham equalized seven minutes later, however, as Giovanni Lu Celso sent a superb pass to Son Heung-min
to score the Korean player the net.
Despite Liverpool’s possession of the ball, Tottenham got two chances, but Stephen Bergevin hit the post
and knocked Harry Kane out of the net from close range.
The defending champions grabbed the victory when Firmino jumped to turn Andy Robertson’s corner kick
into the net.
