Russian soccer club Lokomotiv Moscow announced the death of
its defender, Inukenti Samukhlovov, during an individual
training session, at the age of 22.
“He felt pain during an individual training session,” the club said
in a statement. “The circumstances are being clarified,”
while players, like the rest of the Russian population,
quarantined because of the emerging Coronavirus.
Inukenti Samokhvalov joined Lokomotiv Moscow in 2015,
and he did not play for the first team but for Kazanka,
the reserve team for Lokomotiv in the third degree.
In his statement, Lokomotiv Moscow added: “He was a kind,
light-hearted man, and a good friend. He is very sad for our
family,” noting that he married and had a child.
For his part, the coach of the young player in the Kazanka team,
Alexander Gration confirmed that he had died of a
“heart attack”, according to Agence France-Presse.
