Manchester United achieved a thrilling 3-2 away victory over
Brighton, in a strange match in the third phase of the Premier
League that lasted for 101 minutes.
Neil Mobay touched the ball with his hand inside the area,
to resort to the video assistant referee after the referee blew
the whistle at the end of the match.
The referee calculated the penalty kick and Bruno Fernandez
successfully executed it against Brighton, minutes after the
hosts succeeded in tying the equalizer by Solly March in the
fifth minute of stoppage time.
Marcus Rashford gave United a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute after
a solo effort, after two goals for him and Mason Greenwood
were canceled due to offside, as well as a penalty kick for
Brighton after resorting to the video referee.
Brighton, who scored five times in the goal, took the lead with
a penalty kick by Mobay in the 40th minute after a mistake
by Fernandez.
But United quickly leveled after Brighton defender Lewis Dunk
accidentally scored in his own net, when he tried to prevent
United defender Harry, the re-entry, from reaching Nemanja
Matic’s pass.
