Premier League: Man City begin the title defense campaign against West Ham
Manchester City, the English Premier League champions, will start the 2022-2023 season,
with a confrontation outside their home at West Ham Stadium, at the start of the first round
of the prestigious championship, according to the draw conducted by the League, today, Thursday.
Manchester City fought a fierce battle with Liverpool last season, before the Citizens beat the Reds
by one point at the end of the season.
A few days ago, Manchester City announced the strengthening of its ranks with Norwegian striker
Erling Haaland, and thus it will be his first official match in the ranks of his new team.
Also, Liverpool will play the first match outside its rules, and in London also (such as Man City) when
it is a guest of the Fulham team, returning to the Premier League, according to AFP.
For his part, Liverpool strengthened its ranks by signing Benfica’s Portuguese international and
Uruguayan international Darwin Nunes for a record deal that could reach 100 million euros.
As for the new Manchester United coach, Dutchman Eric Ten Hag, he will play his first official match
when his team hosts Brighton at Old Trafford.
As for the newly promoted, after a long absence dating back to 1999, that is, Nottingham Forest,
he plays his first match in the elite league, as a guest of Newcastle.
The Premier League is expected to start on August 5, and the season will end on May 2023.
According to the draw, the first round of the first week of the tournament begins on Friday, August 5,
with a meeting between Crystal Palace and its guest Arsenal, and the following day (Saturday 6 August)
Bournemouth meets Aston Villa, Everton with Chelsea, Fulham with Liverpool, and Leeds United with
Wolverhampton , Leicester City with Brentford, and Tottenham with Southampton.
On Sunday, August 7, Manchester United will meet its guest Brighton, while Manchester City will travel
to London to meet West Ham.
