Mane will reveal his future with Liverpool .. and set the date
The Senegalese international, Sadio Mane, the Liverpool striker, said Thursday that he will not
reveal his future plans until after playing the Champions League final, Saturday, against Real Madrid.
British media reported that Mane, who joined Liverpool in 2016 and scored more than 120 goals
for the Premier League club, is considering leaving the team coached by German Juergen Klopp
in search of a new challenge.
“I will answer this question (about my future) after the Champions League (final) and whether or not
to stay,” Mane, who has one year left on his contract with Liverpool, told Sky Sports.
“What I want to say now is that I am completely focused on winning the Champions League, and that is
more important for me and the Liverpool fans.”
He continued, “This is the answer that I have to give before going into the final. But you have to come back
to me on Saturday and I will give you the best answer you want to hear, for sure. It will be a private answer.
I will tell you everything you want to hear then.”
The 30-year-old confirmed his full commitment to Liverpool in the European Final. “I will do everything
in my power to win the game with Liverpool,” Mane said.
“I think we all forgot what happened in (final) 2018. Of course, Real Madrid was the best team at the time
and deserved to win the match, but it will be a different match (this time)”.
Real beat Liverpool 3-1 in the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv after Karim Benzema’s goal and
Gareth Bale’s double after Mane tied for Liverpool.
