Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Inter Milan, confirmed that the
Argentine player and Barcelona’s star Lionel Messi will not
move from the Catalan club, but will remain in the Spanish
team until his retirement.
Marotta, for the Sky Sports channel, denied the rumors that
Messi had moved to San Siro and playing for Inter, saying,
“It would be inappropriate to stoke illusions.”
He added: “We have to be realistic. Rumors are utopian and
wishful thinking, because everyone loves Messi to join his
team, but it is inappropriate to run after delusions and rumors.
We must return to reality.”
“Messi is a great player but he will remain in Barcelona, who is
the ideal habitat for him, and I think he will stay with the club
for the end of his career,” he added.
The Italian coach Antonio Conte has settled the issue of the
transfer of Argentine star, Lionel Messi, to Inter, pointing out
that “moving the Milan Cathedral is easier than signing Inter
Milan with Messi.”
It is worth noting that Messi’s 33-year-old contract will expire
with Barcelona at the end of next season, but this does not
guarantee that he will remain in “Camp Nou” with a clause
allowing him to leave with the end of any season.
