Lionel Messi, a Argentine star, has been suffering
from a real infertility, during the “Classico”
matches against Real Madrid, since the departure
of his first rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi has not scored any goals nor made any
decisive passes in the “El Clásico”, since Ronaldo
moved out of the Spanish league, to Juventus, in
the summer of 2018.
Barcelona’s latest “setback”, which was marked by
the “disappearance” of Messi during the meeting,
and the 0-2 loss of the Catalan club, to confirm the
decline of the Argentine star in the biggest meeting
in Spain, since Ronaldo’s departure.
Messi’s last contribution to “El Clásico” returns
when he last faced Ronaldo, in May 2018, in a
“dramatic” encounter that ended with a score of 2-
2, in which both stars scored.
Messi himself admitted that he “lost” Ronaldo last
summer when he said: “It was nice to play against
Ronaldo, he made Real Madrid a stronger team,
and even the Liga missed him. His presence made
us as better players as well. We had a great struggle
between us.”
Real Madrid failed to achieve any titles since
Ronaldo’s departure two seasons ago, but he finally
managed to beat Barcelona in a decisive
“Classico”, last Sunday.
After his comments in the summer, Messi returned
in an interview with the newspaper “Marca” in
December, describing his competition with
Ronaldo as “very healthy and enjoyable for the
masses.”
Messi is considered the historical scorer for “El
Clasico”, with 26 goals throughout history, but his
suffering has become “real” in front of the “royal”,
since the Portuguese star’s departure.
