The Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, finally rocked the net
with a free kick with Juventus, and Gianluigi Buffon fought a
648 game in Serie A, a record number, topping the leaders
4-1 against his neighbor Turin on Saturday, while Milan
beat Lazio 3-0.
Ronaldo hit over the defensive wall to put Juventus in the lead
3-1 in the 61st minute, which was his first goal from a free kick
after 43 attempts during the first two seasons with Juventus.
With this result, Juventus increased its score to 75 points from
30 games, seven points ahead of second-placed Lazio, who lost
0-3 to Milan, while Turin, who failed to beat Juventus in the last
12 games between them, is 15th with 31 points.
Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri said: “We advanced correctly and
then scored again. Maybe we thought the confrontation would
be easy but the penalty kick got us nervous and made us lose
control of the match.”
“There was a period of confusion at the beginning of the second
half, but when fatigue with the two teams came, our strength
appeared,” he added.
