Borussia Moenchengladbach broke his jaw in front of his neighbor and guest Borussia Dortmund,
with a 4-2 victory to advance to fourth place in the German Premier League.
Mönchengladbach, whose victory was clinched thanks to a double by Niko Elvedi and two goals by
Algeria’s Rami Ben Sebaini and Marcus Thuram, lost their last 11 games against Dortmund.
He raised his tally to 31 points from 18 matches, two points ahead of Dortmund, who advanced 2-1
thanks to an Erling Haaland brace in the first half.
Bayern Munich, who will meet Schalke 04 on Sunday, top the competition with 39 points from 17 matches.
In Möchengladbach, Elvedi put the hosts ahead 11 minutes after the start with a header, but Haaland equalized
with a superb shot from inside the penalty area in the 22nd minute.
The Norwegian striker put Dortmund the lead six minutes later with another shot from close range.
Four minutes later, Mochengladbach equalized 2-2 when Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Berkey blocked
Lars Stindel’s free kick and the ball bounced back to Elvede to put it in the net from close range.
Ben Sebeeni fired a shot that overtook Berkey in the 49th minute before Thuram, returning from a five-match
ban for spitting at Hoffenheim defender Stefan Bosch, added the fourth goal in the 78th minute.
