Barcelona announced, on Wednesday, the appointment of Dutch
coach Ronald Koeman to train the first team, as a replacement
for the dismissed coach, Quique Setien.
Barcelona said on its website that it had a contract with its
former player until June 30, 2022, and the club will present
Koeman to the media later on Wednesday.
Barcelona sacked Setien on Monday after 7 months in the
position, following the 2-8 defeat by Bayern Munich in the
Champions League, Friday, and leaving the season without any title.
Coman returns to the team that defended its colors as a player
from 1989 to 1995, and won the Spanish League 4 times in its ranks.
Coman led Barcelona to win his first Champions League title in
1992, by scoring the only goal of the match against Sampdoria
after the extension, in the final held at Wembley Stadium.
