On Wednesday, WhatsApp announced, in an
official capacity, that its instant messaging
application now provides the “Night mode” feature.
A few months ago, the blog “wabetainfo”,
specializing in application news, reported that
Facebook, the owner of the popular communication
application, had launched a “Night Mode” feature
in an experimental way.
The “Virg” website said that the new feature
protects the sight from the rays of the smartphone,
during the night period, especially if the user
spends a long time using the application in a dark
room.
He added: “It also saves significantly from
application consumption to charge the phone’s
battery.”
The feature is based on reducing the light rate
issued by the application interface, as well as
changing its background color to black (on Apple
devices) or dark gray (on Android devices).
And users of Apple devices will get the night mode
when using iOS 13 only, while Android users will
get the advantage of using Android 10 and setting
the dark appearance of the system.
Android 9 and earlier versions of the operating
system can manually activate the status in
WhatsApp through the application’s settings.
The source pointed out that it is sufficient to do the
application update via “Play Store” or “Apple
Store” to obtain the new feature.
