The Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam announced on Thursday that it has officially agreed with the English club Chelsea on the departure of Moroccan international player Hakim Ziash and joining the ranks of the blue, by the end of the current season.
Ajax confirmed that the value of the transfer deal, Hakim Ziash, who is linked with a contract with the Dutch team until the summer of 2022, amounts to 40 million euros, with some additional variables.
The announcement ended days of speculation about the fate of the 26-year-old Moroccan, who joined Ajax in 2016, moving from the Tafneti team for $ 12 million.
It is noteworthy that the law gives clubs the possibility to make deals outside the period of opening the winter transfer window in the English Premier League and signing it, but it prohibits the registration of players in their new clubs before reopening them in the summer transfer period.
Zach is known for his dribbling skills and precise long-distance passes, and he has scored 49 goals in 160 official matches with Ajax, since he first played in the Dutch club jersey on September 11, 2016, against Vitesse Arnhem.
The Zach star, who started his career with the Dutch Heerenveen between the 2012 and 2014 seasons, brightened a lot with Ajax last season, when he led his team to win the league title and the Dutch Cup, in addition to reaching the Champions League semi-finals, after Real Madrid and Juventus were toppled.
It is worth noting that the Ajax team is considered one of the most teams that “spawn” local talent before moving to major European clubs, as is the case with defender Mattis de Licht who moved to Juventus, and his teammate Frankie de Young who moved to Barcelona.
